T12n0375_p0611b06:爾時,會中有優婆塞,是拘尸[2]𨚗城工巧之子,
T12n0375_p0611b07:名曰純陀,與其同類十五人俱。為令世間
T12n0375_p0611b08:得善果故,捨身威儀,從座而起。偏袒右
T12n0375_p0611b09:肩,右膝著地,合掌向佛,悲感流淚,頂禮佛
T12n0375_p0611b10:足而白佛言:「[3]唯願世尊及比丘僧哀受我
T12n0375_p0611b11:等最後供養,為度無量諸眾生故。世尊!我
T12n0375_p0611b12:等從今無主、無親、無救、無護、無歸、無趣,貧
T12n0375_p0611b13:窮飢困,欲從如來求將來食。[*]唯願哀受
T12n0375_p0611b14:我等微供,然後涅槃。世尊!譬如剎利,若婆羅
T12n0375_p0611b15:門、毘舍、首陀,以貧窮故,遠至他國役力農
T12n0375_p0611b16:作。得好調牛,良田平正,無諸沙鹵、惡草、荒
T12n0375_p0611b17:穢,唯悕天雨。言調牛者,[4]喻身、口七;良田
T12n0375_p0611b18:平正,[*]喻於智慧;除去沙鹵、惡草、荒穢,[*]喻
T12n0375_p0611b19:除煩惱。世尊!我今身有調牛、良田、耘除眾
T12n0375_p0611b20:穢,唯悕如來甘露法雨。貧四姓者,即我身是,
T12n0375_p0611b21:貧於無上法之財寶。[*]唯願哀[5]愍,除斷我等
T12n0375_p0611b22:貧窮困苦,拯及無量苦惱眾生。我今所供
T12n0375_p0611b23:雖復微少,冀得充足如來大眾。我今無主、
T12n0375_p0611b24:無親、無歸,願垂矜[*]愍如羅睺羅。」
T12n0375_p0611b25:爾時,世尊——一切種智、無上調御——告純陀曰:「善
T12n0375_p0611b26:哉,善哉!我今為汝除斷貧窮,無上法雨雨
T12n0375_p0611b27:汝身田,令生法[6]芽。汝今於我欲求壽命、
T12n0375_p0611b28:色、力、安樂、無礙辯才,我當施汝常命、色、力、
T12n0375_p0611b29:安、無[7]礙辯。何以故?純陀!施食有二,果報
T12n0375_p0611c01:無差。何等為二?一者、受已得阿耨多羅三藐
T12n0375_p0611c02:三菩提,二者、受已入於涅槃。我今受汝最
T12n0375_p0611c03:後供養,令汝具足檀波羅蜜。」
爾時,純陀即
T12n0375_p0611c04:白佛言:「如佛所說二施果報無差別者,是
T12n0375_p0611c05:義不然。何以故?先受施者,煩惱未盡,未
T12n0375_p0611c06:得成就一切種智,亦未能令眾生具足檀
T12n0375_p0611c07:波羅蜜;後受施者,煩惱已盡,已得成就一
T12n0375_p0611c08:切種智,能令眾生普得具足檀波羅蜜。先
T12n0375_p0611c09:受施者猶是眾生;後受施者是天中天。先
T12n0375_p0611c10:受施者,是雜食身、煩惱之身、是後邊身、是無
T12n0375_p0611c11:常身;後受施者,無煩惱身、金剛之身、法身、常
T12n0375_p0611c12:身、無邊之身。云何而言二施果報等無差別?
T12n0375_p0611c13:先受施者,未能具足檀波羅蜜乃至般若波
T12n0375_p0611c14:羅蜜,唯得肉眼,未得佛眼乃至慧眼;後受
T12n0375_p0611c15:施者,已得具足檀波羅蜜乃至般若波羅
T12n0375_p0611c16:蜜,具足[8]佛眼乃至慧眼。云何而言二施果
T12n0375_p0611c17:報等無差別?世尊!先受施者,受已食之,入
T12n0375_p0611c18:腹消化,得命、得色、得力、得安、得無[*]礙辯;
T12n0375_p0611c19:後受施者,不食、不消,無五事果。云何而言
T12n0375_p0611c20:二施果報等無差別?」
T12n0375_p0611c21:佛言:「善男子!如來已於無量無邊阿僧祇劫
T12n0375_p0611c22:無有食身、煩惱之身,無後邊身,常身、法身、
T12n0375_p0611c23:金剛之身。善男子!未見佛性者,名煩惱身、
T12n0375_p0611c24:雜食之身,是後邊身。菩薩爾時受飲食已
T12n0375_p0611c25:入金剛三昧,此食消已即見佛性,得阿耨
T12n0375_p0611c26:多羅三藐三菩提。是故,我言二施果報等無
T12n0375_p0611c27:差別。菩薩爾時破壞四魔,今入涅槃亦破
T12n0375_p0611c28:四魔。是故,我言二施果報等無差別。菩薩爾
T12n0375_p0611c29:時雖不廣說十二部經,先已通達,今入涅
T12n0375_p0612a01:槃,廣為眾生分別演說。是故,我言二施果報
T12n0375_p0612a02:等無差別。
「善男子!如來之身已於無量阿僧
T12n0375_p0612a03:祇劫不受飲食,為諸聲聞說言:『先受難陀、
T12n0375_p0612a04:難陀波羅二牧牛女所奉乳糜,然後乃得阿
T12n0375_p0612a05:耨多羅三藐三菩提。』我實不食。我今普為[A2]此
T12n0375_p0612a06:會大眾,是故受汝最後所奉,實亦不食。」
T12n0375_p0612a07:爾時,大眾聞佛世尊普為大會哀受純陀最
T12n0375_p0612a08:後供養,歡喜踊躍,同聲讚言:「善哉,善哉。希有,
T12n0375_p0612a09:純陀!汝今立字,名不虛稱。言純陀者,名解
T12n0375_p0612a10:妙義。汝今建立如是大義,是故依實從義
T12n0375_p0612a11:立名,故名純陀。汝今現世得大名利,德願
T12n0375_p0612a12:滿足。甚奇,純陀!生在人中,復得難得無上
T12n0375_p0612a13:之利。善哉,純陀!如優曇花世間希有,佛出
T12n0375_p0612a14:於世亦復甚難;值佛生信、聞法,復難;佛臨
T12n0375_p0612a15:涅槃最後供養,能辦此事復難於是。南無
T12n0375_p0612a16:純陀!南無純陀!汝今已具檀波羅蜜。猶如秋
T12n0375_p0612a17:月十五日夜,清淨圓滿,無諸雲翳,一切眾生
T12n0375_p0612a18:無不瞻仰。汝亦如是,而為我等之所瞻仰。
T12n0375_p0612a19:佛已受汝最後供養,令汝具足檀波羅蜜。
T12n0375_p0612a20:南無純陀!是故說汝如月盛滿,一切眾生無
T12n0375_p0612a21:不瞻仰。南無純陀!雖受人身,心如佛心。汝
T12n0375_p0612a22:今純陀真是佛子,如羅睺羅,等無有異。」
爾
T12n0375_p0612a23:時,大眾即說偈言:

T12n0375_p0612c17:陀!莫大愁苦,應當歡喜,深自慶幸得值最
T12n0375_p0612c18:後供養如來,成就具足檀波羅蜜;不應請
T12n0375_p0612c19:佛久住於世。汝今當觀諸佛境界悉皆無
T12n0375_p0612c20:常;諸行性相亦復如是。」
即為純陀而說偈

T12n0375_p0613a18:思議如來涅槃深奧之義?世尊!我今已與諸
T12n0375_p0613a19:大龍象菩薩摩訶薩——斷諸結漏——文殊師利法
T12n0375_p0613a20:王子等。世尊!譬如幼年初得出家,雖未具
T12n0375_p0613a21:戒即墮僧數。我亦如是,以佛、菩薩神通力
T12n0375_p0613a22:故,得在如是大菩薩數。是故,我今欲令如
T12n0375_p0613a23:來久住於世,不入涅槃。譬如飢人終無變
T12n0375_p0613a24:吐。[*]唯願世尊亦復如是,常[*]住於世,不入
T12n0375_p0613a25:涅槃。」
T12n0375_p0613a26:爾時,文殊師利法王子告純陀[3]言:「純陀!汝
T12n0375_p0613a27:今不應發如是言:『欲[4]使如來常住於世,
T12n0375_p0613a28:不般涅槃,如彼飢人無有變吐。』汝今當觀
T12n0375_p0613a29:諸行性相,如是觀行具空三昧,欲求正法
T12n0375_p0613b01:應如是學。」
純陀問言:「文殊師利!夫如來者,
T12n0375_p0613b02:天上人中最尊、最勝。如是如來豈是行耶?若
T12n0375_p0613b03:是行者,為生滅法。譬如水泡,速起、速滅,往來
T12n0375_p0613b04:流轉猶如車輪;一切諸行亦復如是。我聞
T12n0375_p0613b05:諸天壽命極長。云何世尊是天中天,壽命更
T12n0375_p0613b06:促,不滿百年?如聚落主勢得自在,以自在
T12n0375_p0613b07:力能制他人。是人福盡,其後貧賤,人所輕
T12n0375_p0613b08:蔑,為他策使。所以者何?失勢力故。世尊亦
T12n0375_p0613b09:爾,同於諸行。同諸行者,則不得稱為天
T12n0375_p0613b10:中天。何以故?諸行即是生死法故。是故,文
T12n0375_p0613b11:殊!勿觀如來同於諸行。
T12n0375_p0613b12:「復次,文殊!為知而說、不知而說,而言:『如來
T12n0375_p0613b13:同於諸行』?設使如來同諸行者,則不得言:
T12n0375_p0613b14:『於三界中為天中天、自在法王。』譬如人王
T12n0375_p0613b15:有大力士,其力當千,更無有能降伏之者,
T12n0375_p0613b16:故稱此士一人當千。如是力士王所愛念,
T12n0375_p0613b17:偏賜爵祿、封賞自然,所以得稱當千人者。
T12n0375_p0613b18:是人未必力敵於千,但以種種[5]伎藝所能
T12n0375_p0613b19:能勝千故,故稱當千。如來亦爾,降煩惱魔、
T12n0375_p0613b20:陰魔、天魔、死魔,是故,如來名三界尊。如彼
T12n0375_p0613b21:力士一人當千,以是因緣[A5]成就具足種種
T12n0375_p0613b22:無量真實功德,故稱如來、[6]應、正遍知。文殊
T12n0375_p0613b23:師利!汝今不應憶想分別,以如來法同於
T12n0375_p0613b24:諸行。譬如巨富長者生子,相師占之有短
T12n0375_p0613b25:壽相。父母聞已,知其不任紹繼家嗣,不復
T12n0375_p0613b26:愛重,視之如草。夫短壽者,不為沙門、婆羅
T12n0375_p0613b27:門[7]等男女大小之所敬念。若使如來同諸
T12n0375_p0613b28:行者,亦復不為一切世間人天眾生之所
T12n0375_p0613b29:奉敬,如來所說不變不異真實之法亦無受
T12n0375_p0613c01:者。是故,文殊!不應說言:『如來同於一切諸
T12n0375_p0613c02:行。』
T12n0375_p0613c03:「復次,文殊!譬如貧女,無有居家救護之者,
T12n0375_p0613c04:加復病苦、飢渴所[8]逼,遊行乞匃。止他客舍
T12n0375_p0613c05:寄生一子,是客舍主驅逐令去。携抱是兒
T12n0375_p0613c06:欲至他國,於其中路遇惡風雨,寒苦並至,
T12n0375_p0613c07:多為蚊、虻、蜂螫、毒蟲之所唼食。經由恒河,
T12n0375_p0613c08:抱兒而[9]渡,其水漂疾而不放捨,於是母子
T12n0375_p0613c09:遂共俱沒。如是女人慈念功德,命終之後生
T12n0375_p0613c10:於梵天。文殊師利!若有善男子欲護正法,
T12n0375_p0613c11:勿說:『如來同於諸行、不同諸行。』唯當自責:
T12n0375_p0613c12:『我今愚癡、未有慧眼,如來正法不可思議。』是
T12n0375_p0613c13:故,不應宣說:『如來定是有為、定是無為。』若正
T12n0375_p0613c14:見者,應說:『如來定是無為。』何以故?能為眾
T12n0375_p0613c15:生生善法故、生[10]憐愍故。如彼貧女在於
T12n0375_p0613c16:恒河為愛念子而捨身命。
「善男子!護法菩
T12n0375_p0613c17:薩亦應如是,寧捨身命,不說:『如來同於
T12n0375_p0613c18:有為。』當言:『如來同於無為。』以說如來同無
T12n0375_p0613c19:為故,得阿耨多羅三藐三菩提,如彼女人
T12n0375_p0613c20:得生梵天。何以故?以護法故。云何護法?
T12n0375_p0613c21:所謂說言:『如來同於無為。』善男子!如是之
T12n0375_p0613c22:人,雖不求解脫,解脫自至,如彼貧女不求
T12n0375_p0613c23:梵天,梵天自應。
「文殊師利!如人遠行,中路疲
T12n0375_p0613c24:極,寄止他舍。臥寐之中,其室忽然大火卒起。
T12n0375_p0613c25:即時驚寤,尋自思惟:『我於今者定死不疑。』
T12n0375_p0613c26:具慚愧故,以衣纏身,即便命終生忉利天。
T12n0375_p0613c27:從是已後滿八十返作大梵王、滿百千世
T12n0375_p0613c28:生於人中為轉輪王,是人不復生三惡趣,
T12n0375_p0613c29:展轉常生安樂之處。以是緣故,文殊師利!
T12n0375_p0614a01:若善男子有慚愧者,不應觀佛同於諸行。
T12n0375_p0614a02:「文殊師利!外道邪見可說如來同於有為,
T12n0375_p0614a03:持戒比丘不應如是於如來所生有為想。
T12n0375_p0614a04:若言如來是有為者,即是妄語,當知是人
T12n0375_p0614a05:死入地獄,如人自處於己舍宅。
「文殊師利!
T12n0375_p0614a06:如來真實是無為法,不應復言是有為也。
T12n0375_p0614a07:汝從今日於生死中,應捨無知、求於正
T12n0375_p0614a08:智,當知如來即是無為。若能如是觀如來
T12n0375_p0614a09:者,具足當得三十二相,疾成阿耨多羅三
T12n0375_p0614a10:藐三菩提。」
爾時,文殊師利法王子讚純陀言:
T12n0375_p0614a11:「善哉,善哉。善男子!汝今已作長壽因緣,能
T12n0375_p0614a12:知如來是常住法、不變異法、無為之法。汝今
T12n0375_p0614a13:如是善覆如來有為之相。如被火人為慚
T12n0375_p0614a14:愧故以衣覆身,以是善心生忉利天,復
T12n0375_p0614a15:為梵王、轉輪聖王,不[1]至惡趣,常受安樂。
T12n0375_p0614a16:汝亦如是,善覆如來有為相故,於未來世
T12n0375_p0614a17:必定當得三十二相、八十種好,具足十八不
T12n0375_p0614a18:共之法,無量壽命,不在生死,常受安樂,不
T12n0375_p0614a19:久得成應正遍知。
「純陀!如來次後自當廣
T12n0375_p0614a20:說,我之與汝,俱亦當覆如來有為。有為、無
T12n0375_p0614a21:為且共置之,汝可隨時速施飯食,如是施
T12n0375_p0614a22:者諸施中最。若比丘、比丘尼、優婆塞、優婆夷
T12n0375_p0614a23:遠行疲極,所須之物應當清淨,隨時給與,
T12n0375_p0614a24:如是速施即是具足檀波羅蜜根本種子。純
T12n0375_p0614a25:陀!若有最後施佛及僧——若多、若少,若足、不足——
T12n0375_p0614a26:宜速及時,如來正爾當般涅槃。」
純陀[2]答
T12n0375_p0614a27:言:「文殊師利!汝今何故貪為此食,而言多、
T12n0375_p0614a28:少、足與不足,令我時施?文殊師利!如來昔
T12n0375_p0614a29:日苦行六年尚自支持,況於今日須臾間耶?
T12n0375_p0614b01:文殊師利!汝今實謂如來正覺受斯食耶?然
T12n0375_p0614b02:我定知:如來身者即是法身,非為食身。」
爾時,
T12n0375_p0614b03:佛告文殊師利:「如是如是,如純陀言。善哉,
T12n0375_p0614b04:純陀!汝已成就微妙大智,善入甚深大乘經
T12n0375_p0614b05:典。」
文殊師利語純陀言:「汝謂如來是無為
T12n0375_p0614b06:者,如來之身即是長壽。若作是知,佛所悅可。」
T12n0375_p0614b07:純陀答言:「如來非獨悅可於我,亦復悅可一
T12n0375_p0614b08:切眾生。」
文殊師利言:「如來於汝及以我等一
T12n0375_p0614b09:切眾生皆悉悅可。」
純陀答言:「汝不應言:『如
T12n0375_p0614b10:來悅可。』夫悅可者,則是倒想;若有倒想則是
T12n0375_p0614b11:生死;有生死者,即有為法。是故,文殊!勿謂
T12n0375_p0614b12:如來是有為也。若言如來是有為者,我與
T12n0375_p0614b13:仁者俱行顛倒。文殊師利!如來無有愛念
T12n0375_p0614b14:之想。夫愛念者,如彼乳牛愛念其子,雖復
T12n0375_p0614b15:飢渴,行求水草若足、不足,忽然還歸。諸佛世
T12n0375_p0614b16:尊無有是念,等視一切如羅睺羅,如是念
T12n0375_p0614b17:者即是諸佛智慧境界。文殊師利!譬如國王
T12n0375_p0614b18:調御駕駟,欲馳驢乘令及之者,無有是
T12n0375_p0614b19:處。我與仁者亦復如是,欲盡如來微密深
T12n0375_p0614b20:奧亦無是處。文殊師利!如金翅鳥,飛昇虛
T12n0375_p0614b21:空無量由旬下觀大海,悉見水性——魚、鼈、黿、
T12n0375_p0614b22:鼉、龜、龍之屬——及見己影,如於明鏡見諸色
T12n0375_p0614b23:像,凡夫少智不能籌量如是所見。我與仁
T12n0375_p0614b24:者亦復如是,不能籌量如來智慧。」
文殊師
T12n0375_p0614b25:利語純陀言:「如是如是,如汝所說。我於
T12n0375_p0614b26:此事非為不達,直欲試汝諸菩薩事。」
T12n0375_p0614b27:爾時,世尊從其面門出種種光,其光明曜
T12n0375_p0614b28:照文殊身。文殊師利遇斯光已,即知是事,
T12n0375_p0614b29:尋告純陀:「如來今者現是瑞相,不久必當
T12n0375_p0614c01:入於涅槃。汝先所設最後供養宜時奉獻
T12n0375_p0614c02:佛及大眾。純陀當知:如來放是種種光明
T12n0375_p0614c03:非無因緣。」純陀聞已,悲塞默然。
佛告純陀:
T12n0375_p0614c04:「汝所奉施佛及大眾今正是時,如來正爾
T12n0375_p0614c05:當般涅槃。」第二、第三亦復如是。
爾時,純陀
T12n0375_p0614c06:聞佛語已,舉聲[3]啼哭,悲[4]咽而言:「苦哉,苦
T12n0375_p0614c07:哉。世間虛空。」復白大眾:「我等今者一切當共
T12n0375_p0614c08:五體投地,同聲勸佛莫般涅槃。」
爾時,世尊復
T12n0375_p0614c09:告純陀:「莫大啼哭、自亂其心,當觀是身猶
T12n0375_p0614c10:如芭蕉、熱時之炎、水[5]泡、幻化、乾闥婆城、坏器、
T12n0375_p0614c11:電光,亦如畫水、臨死之囚、熟果、段肉,如織
T12n0375_p0614c12:經盡、如碓上下。當觀諸行猶雜毒食,有為
T12n0375_p0614c13:之法多諸過患。」
於是純陀復白佛言:「如來
T12n0375_p0614c14:不欲久住於世,我當云何而不啼[6]泣?苦哉,
T12n0375_p0614c15:苦哉。世間虛空。[*]唯願世尊[7]憐[*]愍我等及
T12n0375_p0614c16:諸眾生,久住於世,勿般涅槃。」
佛告純陀:「汝
T12n0375_p0614c17:今不應發如是言:『哀[*]愍我故,久住於世。』
T12n0375_p0614c18:我以哀[*]愍汝及一切,是故今日欲入涅槃。
T12n0375_p0614c19:何以故?諸佛法爾,有為亦然。是故,諸佛而說
T12n0375_p0614c20:是偈:
T12n0375_p0614c21:T12n0375_p0614c23:「純陀!汝今當觀一切行雜,諸法無我、無常、不
T12n0375_p0614c24:住,此身多有無量過患,猶如水泡。是故,汝
T12n0375_p0614c25:今不應啼泣。」
爾時,純陀復白佛言:「如是如
T12n0375_p0614c26:是,誠如尊教。雖知如來方便示現入於涅
T12n0375_p0614c27:槃,而我不能不懷憂惱;覆自思惟,復生
T12n0375_p0614c28:慶悅。」
佛讚純陀:「善哉,善哉。能知如來示同
T12n0375_p0614c29:眾生方便涅槃。[8]純陀!汝今當聽:如娑羅娑
T12n0375_p0615a01:鳥,春陽之月皆共集彼阿耨達池;諸佛亦爾,
T12n0375_p0615a02:皆至是處。純陀!汝今不應思惟諸佛長壽、
T12n0375_p0615a03:短壽,一切諸法皆如幻相,如來在中以方便
T12n0375_p0615a04:力無所染著。何以故?諸佛法爾。純陀!我今
T12n0375_p0615a05:受汝所獻供養,為欲令汝度脫生死諸有
T12n0375_p0615a06:[1]漏故。若諸人天於此最後供養我者,悉

T12n0375_p0615a12:涅槃及非涅槃。我等今者及諸聲聞、緣覺,智
T12n0375_p0615a13:慧猶如蚊蚋、實不能量如來涅槃及非涅
T12n0375_p0615a14:槃。」爾時,純陀及其眷屬愁憂啼泣,圍遶如來,
T12n0375_p0615a15:燒香散華,盡心敬奉,尋與文殊從座而去,
T12n0375_p0615a16:供辦食具。
T12n0375_p0615a17:[2]大般涅槃經哀歎品第三
T12n0375_p0615a18:純陀去已,未久之頃,是時此地六種震動,乃
T12n0375_p0615a19:至梵世亦復如是。地動有二:或有地動、或
T12n0375_p0615a20:大地動。小動者,名為地動;大動者,名大地
T12n0375_p0615a21:動。有小聲者,名曰地動;有大聲者,名大地
T12n0375_p0615a22:動。獨地動者,名曰地動;山、林、河、海,一切動者,
T12n0375_p0615a23:名大地動。一向動者,名曰地動;周迴旋轉,
T12n0375_p0615a24:名大地動。動,名地動;動時能令眾生心動,
T12n0375_p0615a25:名大地動。菩薩初從兜率天下閻浮提時,
T12n0375_p0615a26:名大地動;從初生、出家、成阿耨多羅三藐
T12n0375_p0615a27:三菩提、轉於法輪及般涅槃,名大地動。今
T12n0375_p0615a28:日如來將入涅槃,是故,此地如是大動。

T12n0375_p0615a29:諸天、龍、乾闥婆、阿修羅、迦樓羅、緊那羅、摩睺羅
T12n0375_p0615b01:伽、人及非人聞是語已,身毛皆竪,同聲哀泣

T12n0375_p0615c06:論,復於此論而生怖畏。如來亦爾,通達諸
T12n0375_p0615c07:法而於諸法復生怖畏。若使如來久住於
T12n0375_p0615c08:世,說甘露味充足一切,如是,眾生則不復
T12n0375_p0615c09:畏、墮於地獄。
「世尊!譬如有人初學作務,為
T12n0375_p0615c10:官所收,閉之囹圄。有人問之:『汝受何事?』答
T12n0375_p0615c11:[7]曰:『我今受大憂苦。』若其得脫則得安樂。世
T12n0375_p0615c12:尊亦爾,為我等故修諸苦行,我等今者猶
T12n0375_p0615c13:未得免生死苦惱,云何如來[*]得受安樂?
T12n0375_p0615c14:「世尊!譬如醫王善解方藥,偏以祕方教授
T12n0375_p0615c15:其子,不教其餘外受學者。如來亦爾,獨以
T12n0375_p0615c16:甚深祕密之藏偏教文殊,遺棄我等,不見
T12n0375_p0615c17:顧[*]愍。如來於法應無祕悋。如彼醫王偏
T12n0375_p0615c18:教其子、不教外來諸受學者,彼醫所以不
T12n0375_p0615c19:能[8]普教,情存勝負故有祕惜。如來之心終
T12n0375_p0615c20:無勝負,何故如是不見教誨?[*]唯願久住,
T12n0375_p0615c21:莫般涅槃。
「世尊!譬如老、少、病苦之人,捨遠
T12n0375_p0615c22:夷塗而行險道,險道多難,備受眾苦。更有
T12n0375_p0615c23:異人見而[*]愍之,即便示以平坦好路。世尊!
T12n0375_p0615c24:我亦如是。所言少者,[*]喻未增長法身之
T12n0375_p0615c25:人;所言老者,[*]喻重煩惱;所言病[9]者,譬未
T12n0375_p0615c26:脫生死;所言險道[10]者,[*]喻二十五有。[*]唯願
T12n0375_p0615c27:如來示導我等甘露正道,久住於世,勿入
T12n0375_p0615c28:涅槃。」
爾時,世尊告諸比丘:「汝等比丘莫如
T12n0375_p0615c29:凡夫、諸天人等愁憂啼哭,當勤精進,繫心正
T12n0375_p0616a01:念。」
時諸天、人、阿修羅等,聞佛所說,止不啼
T12n0375_p0616a02:哭,猶如有人喪其愛子,殯送已訖,抑止不
T12n0375_p0616a03:哭。
爾時,世尊為諸大眾說是偈言:
T12n0375_p0616a04:T12n0375_p0616a05:T12n0375_p0616a06:T12n0375_p0616a07: T12n0375_p0616a08:「復次,比丘!若有疑惑,今皆當問。若空、不空,

T12n0375_p0616a10:歸、非歸,若恒、非恒,若斷、若常,若眾生、非眾生,
T12n0375_p0616a11:若有、若無,若實、不實,若真、不真,若滅、不滅,若
T12n0375_p0616a12:密、不密,若二、不二,如是等種種法中有所
T12n0375_p0616a13:疑者,今應諮問,我當隨順為汝斷之,亦當
T12n0375_p0616a14:為汝先說甘露,然後乃當入於涅槃。
「諸比
T12n0375_p0616a15:丘!佛出世難,人身難得;值佛生信,是事亦
T12n0375_p0616a16:難;能忍難忍,是亦復難;成就禁戒,具足無
T12n0375_p0616a17:缺,得阿羅漢果,是事亦難,如求金沙、優曇
T12n0375_p0616a18:鉢花。[1]汝諸比丘!離於八難得人身難,汝
T12n0375_p0616a19:等遇我不應空過。我於往昔種種苦行,今
T12n0375_p0616a20:得如是無上方便。為汝等故,無量劫中捨
T12n0375_p0616a21:身、手、足、頭、目、髓、腦。是故,汝等不應放逸。
「汝等
T12n0375_p0616a22:比丘!云何莊嚴正法寶城?具足種種功德珍
T12n0375_p0616a23:寶,戒、定、智慧以為牆塹。汝今遇是佛法寶
T12n0375_p0616a24:城,不應取此虛偽之物。譬如商主遇真寶
T12n0375_p0616a25:城,取諸瓦礫而便還家。汝亦如是,值遇寶
T12n0375_p0616a26:城取虛偽物。
「汝諸比丘勿以下心而生知
T12n0375_p0616a27:足,汝等今者雖得出家,於此大乘不生貪
T12n0375_p0616a28:慕。汝諸比丘身雖得服袈裟染衣,心猶未
T12n0375_p0616a29:染大乘淨法。汝諸比丘雖行乞食經歷多
T12n0375_p0616b01:處,初未曾求大乘法食。汝諸比丘雖除鬚
T12n0375_p0616b02:髮,未為正法除諸結使。
「汝諸比丘!今當真
T12n0375_p0616b03:實教勅汝等。我今現在,大眾和合,如來法
T12n0375_p0616b04:性真實不倒。是故,汝等應當精進攝心,勇
T12n0375_p0616b05:猛摧諸結使。[2]十力慧日既潛沒已,汝等當
T12n0375_p0616b06:為無明所覆。諸比丘!譬如大地,諸山、藥草
T12n0375_p0616b07:為眾生用。我法亦爾,出生妙善甘露法味,
T12n0375_p0616b08:而為眾生種種煩惱病之良藥。我今當令
T12n0375_p0616b09:一切眾生及我諸子四部之眾,悉皆安住祕
T12n0375_p0616b10:密藏中;我亦復當安住是中,入於涅槃。何
T12n0375_p0616b11:等名為祕密之藏?猶如伊字,[3]三點若並則
T12n0375_p0616b12:不成伊,縱亦不成;如摩醯首羅面上三目
T12n0375_p0616b13:乃得成伊,三點若別亦不得成。我亦如是,
T12n0375_p0616b14:解脫之法亦非涅槃、如來之身亦非涅槃、摩
T12n0375_p0616b15:訶般若亦非涅槃、三法各異亦非涅槃。我今
T12n0375_p0616b16:安住如是三法,為眾生故名入涅槃,如
T12n0375_p0616b17:世伊字。」
T12n0375_p0616b18:爾時,諸比丘聞佛世尊定當涅槃,皆悉憂愁,
T12n0375_p0616b19:身毛為竪,涕[4]淚交流,稽首佛足,遶無量匝
T12n0375_p0616b20:白佛言:「世尊!快說無常苦、空、無我。世尊!譬
T12n0375_p0616b21:如一切眾生跡中,象跡為上。是無常想亦復
T12n0375_p0616b22:如是,於諸想中最為第一。若有精勤修習
T12n0375_p0616b23:之者,能除一切欲界貪愛、色無色愛、無明、憍
T12n0375_p0616b24:慢及無常想。世尊!如來若離無常想者,今則
T12n0375_p0616b25:不應入於涅槃;若不離者,云何說言修無
T12n0375_p0616b26:常想,離三界愛、無明、憍慢及無常想?
「世尊!譬
T12n0375_p0616b27:如農夫於秋月時深耕其地能除穢草。是
T12n0375_p0616b28:無常想亦復如是,能除一切欲界貪愛、色無
T12n0375_p0616b29:色愛、無明、憍慢及無常想。世尊!譬如耕田,秋
T12n0375_p0616c01:耕為上;如諸跡中,象跡為勝;於諸想中,無
T12n0375_p0616c02:常為最。世尊!譬如帝王知命將終,恩赦天
T12n0375_p0616c03:下獄囚繫閉悉令得脫,然後捨命。如來今
T12n0375_p0616c04:者亦應如是度諸眾生一切無知、無明繫閉,
T12n0375_p0616c05:皆令解脫,然後涅槃。我等今者皆未得度,
T12n0375_p0616c06:云何如來便欲放捨,入於涅槃?
「世尊!譬如
T12n0375_p0616c07:有人為鬼所持,遇良呪師以呪力故便得
T12n0375_p0616c08:除差。如來亦爾,為諸聲聞除無明鬼,令得
T12n0375_p0616c09:安住摩訶般若、解脫等法,如世伊字。
「世尊!
T12n0375_p0616c10:譬如香象為人所縛,雖有良師,不能禁
T12n0375_p0616c11:制,頓絕羈鎖,自恣而去。我未如是脫五十
T12n0375_p0616c12:七煩惱繫縛,云何如來便欲放捨,入於涅槃?
T12n0375_p0616c13:「世尊!如人病瘧,值遇良醫,所苦得除。我亦
T12n0375_p0616c14:如是,多諸患苦、邪命、熱病。雖遇如來,病未
T12n0375_p0616c15:除愈,未得無上安隱常樂。云何如來便欲
T12n0375_p0616c16:放捨,入於涅槃。
「世尊!譬如醉人不自覺知,
T12n0375_p0616c17:不識親踈、母女、姊妹,迷荒婬亂,言語放逸,臥
T12n0375_p0616c18:不淨中。時有良師與藥令服。服已即吐,還
T12n0375_p0616c19:自憶識,心懷慚愧,深自剋責:『酒為不善諸
T12n0375_p0616c20:惡根本,若能除斷則遠眾罪。』世尊!我亦如
T12n0375_p0616c21:是,往昔已來輪轉生死,情色所醉,貪嗜五
T12n0375_p0616c22:欲,非母母想、非姊姊想、非女女想、於非眾
T12n0375_p0616c23:生生眾生想,是故輪轉受生死苦,如彼醉
T12n0375_p0616c24:人臥不淨中。如來今當施我法藥,令我還
T12n0375_p0616c25:吐煩惱惡酒。而我未得醒寤之心,云何如
T12n0375_p0616c26:來便欲放捨,入於涅槃?
「世尊!譬如有人歎
T12n0375_p0616c27:芭蕉樹以為堅實,無有是處。世尊!眾生亦
T12n0375_p0616c28:爾,若歎我、人、眾生、壽命、養育、知見、作者、受者
T12n0375_p0616c29:是真實者,亦無是處。我等如是修無我想。
T12n0375_p0617a01:「世尊!譬如漿滓無所復用;是身亦爾,無我、
T12n0375_p0617a02:無主。世尊!如七葉花無有香氣;是身亦爾,
T12n0375_p0617a03:無我、無主。我等如是,心常修習無我之想。如
T12n0375_p0617a04:佛所說:『一切諸法無我、我所,汝諸比丘應
T12n0375_p0617a05:當修習。如是修已則除我慢,離我慢已便
T12n0375_p0617a06:入涅槃。』世尊!譬如鳥跡,空中現者無有是
T12n0375_p0617a07:處。有能修習無我想者而有諸見,亦無是
T12n0375_p0617a08:處。」
爾時,世尊讚諸比丘:「善哉,善哉。汝等善能
T12n0375_p0617a09:修無我想。」
時諸比丘即白佛言:「世尊!我等
T12n0375_p0617a10:不但修無我想,亦更修習其餘諸想,所謂
T12n0375_p0617a11:苦想、無常[1]等想。世尊!譬如[A6]人醉,其心眩亂,
T12n0375_p0617a12:[2]見諸山川、城廓、宮殿、日月星辰皆悉迴轉。
T12n0375_p0617a13:世尊!若有不修苦、無常想、無我等想,如是
T12n0375_p0617a14:之人不名為聖,多諸放逸,流轉生死。世尊!
T12n0375_p0617a15:以是因緣,我等善修如是諸想。」
T12n0375_p0617a16:爾時,佛告諸比丘言:「諦聽諦聽!汝向所引
T12n0375_p0617a17:醉人[*]喻者,但知文字,未達其義。何等為
T12n0375_p0617a18:義?如彼醉人見上日月,實非迴轉,生迴轉
T12n0375_p0617a19:想。眾生亦爾,為諸煩惱、無明所覆,生[3]顛倒
T12n0375_p0617a20:心,我計無我、常計無常、淨計不淨、樂計為
T12n0375_p0617a21:苦。以為煩惱之所覆故,雖生此想,不達
T12n0375_p0617a22:其義,如彼醉人於非轉處而生轉想。我者,
T12n0375_p0617a23:即是佛義;常者是法身義;樂者是涅槃義;淨
T12n0375_p0617a24:者是法義。
「汝等比丘!云何而言有我想者
T12n0375_p0617a25:憍慢、貢高、流轉生死?汝等若言:『我亦修習無
T12n0375_p0617a26:常、[4]苦、無我等想。』是三種修無有實義。我今
T12n0375_p0617a27:當說勝三修法。苦者計樂、樂者計苦,是[*]顛
T12n0375_p0617a28:倒法;無常計常、常計無常,是[*]顛倒法;無我
T12n0375_p0617a29:計我、我計無我,是[*]顛倒法;不淨計淨、淨計
T12n0375_p0617b01:不淨,是[*]顛倒法。有如是等四[*]顛倒法,是
T12n0375_p0617b02:人不知正修諸法。汝諸比丘!於苦法中而
T12n0375_p0617b03:生樂想、於無常中而生常想、於無我中而
T12n0375_p0617b04:生我想、於不淨中而生淨想。
「世間亦有常、
T12n0375_p0617b05:樂、我、淨;出世亦有常、樂、我、淨。世間法者,有字
T12n0375_p0617b06:無義;出世間者,有字有義。何以故?世間之
T12n0375_p0617b07:法有四[*]顛倒,故不知義。所以者何?有想
T12n0375_p0617b08:[*]顛倒、心倒、見倒。以三倒故,世間之人樂中
T12n0375_p0617b09:見苦、常見無常、我見無我、淨見不淨,是
T12n0375_p0617b10:名[*]顛倒。以[*]顛倒故,世間知字而不知義。
T12n0375_p0617b11:「何等為義?無我者,即生死;我者,即如來。無常
T12n0375_p0617b12:者,聲聞、緣覺;常者,如來法身。苦者,一切外道;
T12n0375_p0617b13:樂者即是涅槃。不淨者即有為法;淨者,諸佛
T12n0375_p0617b14:菩薩所有正法。是名不[*]顛倒。以不[5]倒故,
T12n0375_p0617b15:知字知義。若欲遠離四[*]顛倒者,應知如
T12n0375_p0617b16:是常、樂、我、淨。」
T12n0375_p0617b17:時諸比丘白佛言:「世尊!如佛所說:『離四倒
T12n0375_p0617b18:者則得了知常、樂、我、淨。』如來今者永無四
T12n0375_p0617b19:倒,則已了知常、樂、我、淨。若已了知常、樂、我、
T12n0375_p0617b20:淨,何故不住一劫、半劫,教導我等令離四
T12n0375_p0617b21:倒,而見放捨,欲入涅槃?如來若見顧念教
T12n0375_p0617b22:勅,我當至心頂受修習。如來若當入涅槃
T12n0375_p0617b23:者,我[6]當云何與是毒身同共止住,修於梵
T12n0375_p0617b24:行?我等亦當隨佛世尊入於涅槃。」
爾時,佛
T12n0375_p0617b25:告諸[*]比丘:「汝等不應作如是語。我今所
T12n0375_p0617b26:有無上正法悉以付囑摩訶迦葉。是迦葉者,
T12n0375_p0617b27:當為汝等作大依止。猶如如來為諸眾生
T12n0375_p0617b28:作依止處;摩訶迦葉亦復如是,當為汝等
T12n0375_p0617b29:作依止處。譬如大王多所統領,若遊巡時,
T12n0375_p0617c01:悉以國事付囑大臣。如來亦爾,所有正法
T12n0375_p0617c02:亦以付囑摩訶迦葉。
「汝等當知,先所修習
T12n0375_p0617c03:無常、苦、想,非是真實。譬如春時,有諸人等
T12n0375_p0617c04:在大池浴乘船遊戲,失琉璃寶沒深水中。
T12n0375_p0617c05:是時諸人悉共入水求覓是寶,競捉瓦石、草
T12n0375_p0617c06:木、[A7]沙礫,各各自謂得琉璃珠,歡喜持出乃知
T12n0375_p0617c07:非真。是時寶珠猶在水中,以珠力故,水皆
T12n0375_p0617c08:澄清。於是大眾乃見寶珠故在水下,猶如
T12n0375_p0617c09:仰觀虛空月形。是時眾中有一智人,以方
T12n0375_p0617c10:便力安徐入水即便得珠。汝等比丘不應
T12n0375_p0617c11:如是修習無常、苦、無我想、不淨想等以為實
T12n0375_p0617c12:義,如彼諸人各以瓦石、草木、沙礫而為寶
T12n0375_p0617c13:珠。汝等應當善學方便,在在處處常修:我
T12n0375_p0617c14:想,常、樂、淨想。復應當知,先所修習四法相
T12n0375_p0617c15:貌,悉是[*]顛倒。欲得真實修諸想者,如彼
T12n0375_p0617c16:智人巧出寶珠,所謂:我想,常、樂、淨想。」
爾時,諸
T12n0375_p0617c17:比丘白佛言:「世尊!如佛先說:『諸法無我,汝
T12n0375_p0617c18:當修學!修學是已,則離我想;離我想者,則
T12n0375_p0617c19:離憍慢;離憍慢者,得入涅槃。』是義云何?」
T12n0375_p0617c20:佛告諸比丘:「善哉,善哉。汝今善能諮問是義,
T12n0375_p0617c21:為自斷疑。譬如國王闇鈍少智。有一醫師
T12n0375_p0617c22:性復頑嚚,而王不別,厚賜俸祿。療治眾病
T12n0375_p0617c23:純以乳藥,亦復不知病起根[7]原。雖知乳
T12n0375_p0617c24:藥,復不善解風、冷、熱病,一切諸[8]病悉教服
T12n0375_p0617c25:乳。是王不別是醫知乳好、醜、善、惡。復有明
T12n0375_p0617c26:醫,曉八種術,善療眾病,知諸方藥,從遠
T12n0375_p0617c27:方來。是時舊醫不知諮受,反生貢高、輕慢
T12n0375_p0617c28:之心。彼時明醫即便依附,請以為師,諮受
T12n0375_p0617c29:醫方祕奧之法。語舊醫言:『我今請仁以為
T12n0375_p0618a01:師範,[*]唯願為我宣暢解說。』舊醫答言:『卿今
T12n0375_p0618a02:若能為我給使四十八年,然後乃當教汝
T12n0375_p0618a03:醫法。』時彼明醫即受其教:『我當如是,我
T12n0375_p0618a04:當如是,隨我所能當給走使。』
「是時舊醫即
T12n0375_p0618a05:將客醫共入見王。是時客醫即為王說種
T12n0375_p0618a06:種醫方及餘[1]伎藝:『大王當知,應善分別,此
T12n0375_p0618a07:法如是可以治國、此法如是可以療病。』爾
T12n0375_p0618a08:時國王聞是語已,方知舊醫癡闇無智,即
T12n0375_p0618a09:便驅逐,令出國界,然後倍復恭敬客醫。是
T12n0375_p0618a10:時客醫作是念言:『欲教王者今正是時。』即
T12n0375_p0618a11:語王言:『大王!於我實愛念者,當求一願。』王
T12n0375_p0618a12:即答言:『從此右臂及餘身分,隨意所求,一
T12n0375_p0618a13:切相與。』彼客醫言:『王雖許我一切身分,然
T12n0375_p0618a14:我不敢多有所求。今所求者,願王宣令一
T12n0375_p0618a15:切國內:「從今已往不得復服舊醫乳藥。」所
T12n0375_p0618a16:以者何?是藥毒害,多傷損故。若故服者,當
T12n0375_p0618a17:斬其首。斷乳藥已,終無復有橫死之人,
T12n0375_p0618a18:常處安樂,故求是願。』時王答言:『汝之所求
T12n0375_p0618a19:蓋不足言。』尋為宣令一切國內:『凡諸病人皆
T12n0375_p0618a20:悉不聽以乳為藥,若為藥者當斬其首。』
T12n0375_p0618a21:「爾時,客醫和合眾藥——謂辛、苦、醎、甜、醋等味——以
T12n0375_p0618a22:療眾病,無不得差。其後不久,王復得病,
T12n0375_p0618a23:即命是醫:『我今病困,當云何治?』醫占王病
T12n0375_p0618a24:應用乳藥,尋白王言:『如王所患應當服
T12n0375_p0618a25:乳。我於先時所斷乳藥是非實語,今若
T12n0375_p0618a26:服者最能除病。王今患熱,正應服乳。』時王
T12n0375_p0618a27:語醫:『汝今狂耶?為熱病乎?而言:「服乳能除
T12n0375_p0618a28:此病。」
「『汝先言毒,今云何服?欲欺我耶?先醫
T12n0375_p0618a29:所讚,汝言是毒,令我驅遣。今復言好,最能
T12n0375_p0618b01:除病。如汝所言,我本舊醫定為勝汝。』是時
T12n0375_p0618b02:客醫復語王言:『王[2]今不應作如是語。如
T12n0375_p0618b03:蟲食木有成字者,此蟲不知是字非字。智
T12n0375_p0618b04:人見之,終不唱言:「是蟲解字。」亦不驚怪。大
T12n0375_p0618b05:王當知,舊醫亦爾,不別諸病,悉與乳藥,如
T12n0375_p0618b06:彼蟲道偶得成字。是先舊醫不解乳藥好、
T12n0375_p0618b07:醜、善、惡。』時王問言:『云何不解?』客醫答王:『是
T12n0375_p0618b08:乳藥者,亦是毒害、亦是甘露。云何是乳復名

T12n0375_p0618b15:善哉。我從今日始知乳藥善、惡、好、醜。』即便
T12n0375_p0618b16:服之,病得除愈。尋時宣令一切國內,從今
T12n0375_p0618b17:已往當服乳藥。
「國人聞之皆生瞋恨,咸相
T12n0375_p0618b18:謂言:『大王!今者為鬼所持,為是狂耶?而誑
T12n0375_p0618b19:我等復令服乳。』一切人民皆懷瞋恨,悉集
T12n0375_p0618b20:王所。王言:『汝等不應於我而生瞋恨,如
T12n0375_p0618b21:此乳藥服與不服悉是醫教,非是我咎。』爾
T12n0375_p0618b22:時,大王及諸人民踊躍歡喜,倍共恭敬供養
T12n0375_p0618b23:是醫。一切病者皆服乳藥,病悉除愈。
「汝等比
T12n0375_p0618b24:丘!當知如來、[3]應、正遍知、明行足、善逝、世間解、
T12n0375_p0618b25:無上士、調御丈夫、天人師、佛、世尊亦復如是,
T12n0375_p0618b26:為大醫王出現於世,降伏一切外道邪醫,
T12n0375_p0618b27:諸[4]四眾中唱如是言:『我為醫王。』欲伏外
T12n0375_p0618b28:道故唱是言:『無我、無人、眾生、壽[5]命、養育、知
T12n0375_p0618b29:見、作者、受者。』
「比丘當知,是諸外道所言
T12n0375_p0618c01:我者,如蟲食木偶成字耳。是故,如來於佛
T12n0375_p0618c02:法中唱言無我,為調眾生故、為知時故,
T12n0375_p0618c03:如是無我。有因緣故,亦說有我。如彼良醫
T12n0375_p0618c04:善知於乳是藥、非藥,非如凡夫所計吾我。
T12n0375_p0618c05:凡夫愚人所計我者,或有說言大如拇指、
T12n0375_p0618c06:或如芥子、或如微塵。如來說我,悉不如是,
T12n0375_p0618c07:是故說言諸法無我,實非無我。何者是我?
T12n0375_p0618c08:若法是實、是真、是常、是主、是依,性不變易,是
T12n0375_p0618c09:名為我。如彼大醫善解乳藥;如來亦爾,為
T12n0375_p0618c10:眾生故說諸法中真實有我。汝等四眾應
T12n0375_p0618c11:當如是修習是法。」
