T03n0186_p0497b02:將太子至於天祠。』王然可之。皆勅城內

T03n0186_p0497c13:淨,菩薩出觀,其大愛道抱[25]將來出,八萬婇
T03n0186_p0497c14:女來迎菩薩,稽首為禮。諸釋一萬人奉迎
T03n0186_p0497c15:菩薩,五千梵志亦復奉迎,其諸釋種作眾瓔

T03n0186_p0499a29:犁曰:『此何所設?』答曰:『種穀用稅國王。』菩薩
T03n0186_p0499b01:歎[12]嗟,乃以一夫令民憂擾,畏官鞭杖加罰
T03n0186_p0499b02:之厄,心懷恐懼怱怱不安,人命甚短憂[13]長
T03n0186_p0499b03:無量,日月流邁,出息不[14]報就於後世;天人
T03n0186_p0499b04:終始,三惡苦患不可稱載;五趣生死輪轉

T03n0186_p0499b08:見閻浮樹蔭好茂盛,則在彼樹蔭涼下坐,
T03n0186_p0499b09:一心禪思三昧正[17]定,以為第一。時有外學
T03n0186_p0499b10:五百神仙,飛行虛空從南至北,欲[18]越藂
T03n0186_p0499b11:樹不能得過,定住不前。遙見菩薩,因共
T03n0186_p0499b12:歎詠觀身功勳,其德巍巍,猶如須彌大金剛
T03n0186_p0499b13:山,如妙明珠安不可動;像閻羅王鬼[19]揵沓
T03n0186_p0499b14:和耶?今坐樹下,心如虛空將是定坐,為何
T03n0186_p0499b15:吉祥?儻令我等失神足乎?察見愍哀[20]甚大
T03n0186_p0499b16:光耀,明顯灼灼,心自念言:『為是神祇毘沙門
T03n0186_p0499b17:天大財富者,若是天子上天帝釋,日月之明
T03n0186_p0499b18:轉輪聖王也。』時虛空天即說頌曰:

T03n0186_p0499c18:身不能蔽相。』時王聞之往詣其樹,即見
T03n0186_p0499c19:菩薩威神吉祥巍巍無量,時說偈言:

T03n0186_p0500a01:善哉![1]初生瑞應終不虛妄,今皆現矣,十方

T03n0186_p0500a04:佛告比丘:「時白淨王與其太子及諸釋種,
T03n0186_p0500a05:住於彼間。時諸力士釋種長者啟白淨王:
T03n0186_p0500a06:『王欲知之,是諸梵志未得究竟,假使太子
T03n0186_p0500a07:棄國捐王,成為如來乃得究竟;設不出
T03n0186_p0500a08:家,為轉輪王治以正法,號曰法王。然有七
T03n0186_p0500a09:寶:一曰、金輪寶,二曰、紺色馬,三曰、白象,四曰、
T03n0186_p0500a10:明月珠,五曰、[3]玉女妻,六曰、主藏臣,七曰、主
T03n0186_p0500a11:兵臣;則有千子端正姝好,[4]猛勇傑異一人
T03n0186_p0500a12:當千,能伏怨敵。若作佛者,聖王種斷,唯
T03n0186_p0500a13:有散王各各稱[5]号。』白淨[6]王曰:『[7]且當觀
T03n0186_p0500a14:之,何所玉女宜應太子妃?』五百諸釋各自宣
T03n0186_p0500a15:言:『我當求之應太子妃。』其白淨王謂諸釋
T03n0186_p0500a16:等:『今太子妃甚為難得,不知何女而可其
T03n0186_p0500a17:意?』皆共集會思議此事,以語太子:『今當思
T03n0186_p0500a18:惟。』却之七日菩薩心念:『[8]吾不貪欲不宜
T03n0186_p0500a19:處家,棄兜[9]術來在此[10]人間心無所慕,寂
T03n0186_p0500a20:三昧定以權方便而試當之,勤親道場以
T03n0186_p0500a21:無蓋哀而[11]勸助之。』即說偈[12]言:

T03n0186_p0500b11:淨言行相應,心如下使多修慈愍;不[23]挊
T03n0186_p0500b12:頭首不[24]在愚戇,無有恚恨在眾猶安而
T03n0186_p0500b13:不迷惑,所作業善,敬於親友視如世尊;念
T03n0186_p0500b14:彼如己,流長名稱,眾善普[25]修,常奉恭恪。
T03n0186_p0500b15:如是妻者爾乃可耳!
T03n0186_p0500b16:「爾時白淨王聞菩薩言,告[26]古梵志:『入迦夷
T03n0186_p0500b17:衛遍周諸家,察好玉女誰有是德?君子長
T03n0186_p0500b18:者工師細民,有如是比功勳備乎?若可太
T03n0186_p0500b19:子乃可迎耳。所以者何?太子不好種姓唯
T03n0186_p0500b20:[27]樂德耳。』於是頌曰:
T03n0186_p0500b21:T03n0186_p0500b22:T03n0186_p0500b23:T03n0186_p0500b24: T03n0186_p0500b25:「爾時梵志聞是偈教,周旋遍行迦維羅衛

T03n0186_p0500b27:好如天玉女,容色第一淨猶蓮華,不長不
T03n0186_p0500b28:短不白不黑,不肥不瘦正得女容,類玉女

T03n0186_p0500c01:求?』梵志答曰:『其白淨王生真太子,端[*]政無
T03n0186_p0500c02:比相三十二,功德威神,自手書偈,形貌女相

T03n0186_p0500c11:異,面色清淨儻不可意,使自擇之。詣無憂
T03n0186_p0500c12:堂皆集眾女,使太子身自己察之,菩薩自
T03n0186_p0500c13:察悅者眼向。』
T03n0186_p0500c14:「[33]爾時白淨王,眾寶[34]奇珍作好講堂,皆[35]召
T03n0186_p0500c15:羅衛上好妙女,會彼講堂。」
佛語比丘:「於時
T03n0186_p0500c16:菩薩往到[A1]講堂,坐仁賢床。王遣使者:『菩薩
T03n0186_p0500c17:所視顧[36]妙悅者,即來告我。』爾時菩薩會諸
T03n0186_p0500c18:婇女,時釋家女名曰[37]俱夷,與諸婇女到菩
T03n0186_p0500c19:薩所;却住一面諦視菩薩,目未曾眴。菩薩
T03n0186_p0500c20:普察即時欣笑,執持寶[38]英以遺俱夷。俱夷

T03n0186_p0501b15:菩薩。菩薩報曰:『汝等且[26]待,我當擲之。』時一
T03n0186_p0501b16:王子來共擲戲,亦不能及;至五百人皆不
T03n0186_p0501b17:能逮。時諸會者舉聲歎曰:『若[27]稱一辭至未
T03n0186_p0501b18:曾有,況無數藝,所言殊特言辭談論不可
T03n0186_p0501b19:究竟。』炎光大臣雖能計校,言談算術亦不

「時諸釋族種姓悉共

T03n0186_p0502c21:者何?如我於今所見變應。』心自念言:『太子
T03n0186_p0502c22:將無欲行遊觀?當勅四衢嚴治道路,學
T03n0186_p0502c23:調伎樂普令清淨,却後七日太子當出,使
T03n0186_p0502c24:道平正莫令不淨,勿使見非諸不可意。』
T03n0186_p0502c25:即時受教皆當如法,嚴治已竟懸繒[32]幡蓋,

T03n0186_p0502c27:「[33]爾時菩薩出東城門,菩薩威[34]聖之所建立,
T03n0186_p0502c28:於時諸天化作老人,頭白齒落目冥耳聾,短
T03n0186_p0502c29:氣呻吟執杖僂步住於中路,菩薩知之故復
T03n0186_p0503a01:發問:『此為何人?頭白齒落羸瘦乃爾。』御者
T03n0186_p0503a02:答[1]言:『是名老人,諸[2]貌已盡形變色衰,飲食
T03n0186_p0503a03:不化氣力虛微,命在西垂餘壽無幾,故曰
T03n0186_p0503a04:老矣。』菩薩即曰:『是則世法而有此難?一切眾
T03n0186_p0503a05:生皆有斯患?人命速駛猶山水流,[3]宿夜逝
T03n0186_p0503a06:疾難可再還,老亦然矣,不亦苦哉。』一心專
T03n0186_p0503a07:精思惟正義。御者答曰:『不獨此人遇苦患
T03n0186_p0503a08:也,天下皆爾,俗之常法,聖尊父母親里知識,
T03n0186_p0503a09:皆致此老,咸同是業。』菩薩時曰:『不解句
T03n0186_p0503a10:[4]義愚人自大,不覺老至自[5]沒塵埃,便可
T03n0186_p0503a11:迴還,用是五樂不益於事。』[6]自覩如幻、空
T03n0186_p0503a12:中之電,還入宮中思惟經典愍念十方,宜
T03n0186_p0503a13:以法藥必療治之。
「菩薩後日復欲出遊,王
T03n0186_p0503a14:勅外吏嚴治道路,去諸不淨。菩薩駕乘出
T03n0186_p0503a15:南城門,復於中路見疾病人,水腹身羸臥
T03n0186_p0503a16:于道側,氣息張口命將欲絕。菩薩知之故
T03n0186_p0503a17:復發問,告御者曰:『此為何人?』御[7]者曰:『此
T03n0186_p0503a18:名病人,已至死地命在須臾,骨節欲解餘
T03n0186_p0503a19:壽如髮。』菩薩即曰:『萬物無常有身皆苦,生
T03n0186_p0503a20:皆有此何得免之。吾身不久亦當然矣,不
T03n0186_p0503a21:亦痛乎。有身有苦,無身乃樂。』即還入宮。

T03n0186_p0503a23:子[8]乘駕出西城門,見一死人著于床上,家
T03n0186_p0503a24:室圍繞[9]舉之出城,[10]涕淚悲哭椎胸呼嗟,頭
T03n0186_p0503a25:面塵垢淚下如雨:『何為棄我獨逝而去?』菩薩
T03n0186_p0503a26:知之而復問曰:『此為何人?』御者答曰:『此[11]是
T03n0186_p0503a27:死人。人生有死猶春有冬,身[12]沒神逝[13]宗
T03n0186_p0503a28:家別離,人物一統無生不終。』菩薩答曰:『夫
T03n0186_p0503a29:死痛矣,精神[14]懅矣,生當有此老病死苦,莫
T03n0186_p0503b01:不熱中迫而就之,不亦苦乎!吾見死者,形
T03n0186_p0503b02:壞體化而神不滅,是故聖人以身為患,而
T03n0186_p0503b03:愚者[15]寶之至死無厭。吾不能復以死受
T03n0186_p0503b04:生,往來五道勞我精神。』便迴車還,思度
T03n0186_p0503b05:十方。
「復於異日,報王出遊。出北城門,見一
T03n0186_p0503b06:沙門,寂靜安徐淨修梵行,諸根寂定目不妄
T03n0186_p0503b07:視,威儀禮節不失道法,衣服整齊手執法
T03n0186_p0503b08:器。菩薩問之:『此為何人?』御者答曰:『此名比
T03n0186_p0503b09:丘,[16]以棄情欲,心意寂然猶如[17]太山,不可
T03n0186_p0503b10:傾動;難污如空,屈伸低仰不失儀則;心如
T03n0186_p0503b11:蓮華悉無所著,亦如明珠六通清徹,無一
T03n0186_p0503b12:蔽礙,慈[18]愍一切欲度十方。』菩薩即言:『善
T03n0186_p0503b13:哉!唯是為快,是吾所樂,心意寂靜自愍度
T03n0186_p0503b14:彼,善業快利成甘露果。』」
佛告比丘:「父王白

T03n0186_p0503b16:空,[19]而懷怖懅畏之出家;宿夜將護,高其
T03n0186_p0503b17:牆壁深掘諸壍;更立城門,[20]門開閉聲聞四
T03n0186_p0503b18:十里;立諸宿衛勇猛之士,被鎧執[21]仗於
T03n0186_p0503b19:四城門,皆勅眾兵勿有遺漏,將無太子
T03n0186_p0503b20:捨吾出家,於其宮裏亦宿衛之;益眾伎

T03n0186_p0503b29:無央數[26]疾,使無諸[27]痛;自見其身坐師子

T03n0186_p0503c09:大光明照遠近?侍者來白:『天尚未曉日亦
T03n0186_p0503c10:未出,自然光明照諸牆壁樹木,飛鳥鳧鴈
T03n0186_p0503c11:孔雀鴛鴦相和而鳴,方欲向明;是光第一,
T03n0186_p0503c12:柔軟安隱清涼和雅,牆壁樹木永無有影。』至
T03n0186_p0503c13:德於是在彼思惟,觀於四方坐見牕牖。
T03n0186_p0503c14:「[34]爾時有諸天人,即起欲去不得自在,顧
T03n0186_p0503c15:省其父知之覺起,立啟:『父王!勿懷愁慼,
T03n0186_p0503c16:勿以遠慮;諸天勸助今應出家,唯忍過罪

T03n0186_p0503c18:曰:『何所志願?何時能還?與吾要誓普施志
T03n0186_p0503c19:願,吾以年朽家國無嗣。』菩薩即時以柔軟
T03n0186_p0503c20:辭而啟王言:『欲得四願,假使聽我[*]還得
T03n0186_p0503c21:自在;得是願後不復出家。何謂為四:一者、
T03n0186_p0503c22:欲得不老,二者、至竟無病,三者、不死,四者、
T03n0186_p0503c23:不別;神仙五[36]通雖住一劫不離於死,假
T03n0186_p0503c24:使父王與此四願,不復出家。』王聞重悲:『此
T03n0186_p0503c25:四願者古今無獲,誰能蠲除此四難者?子
T03n0186_p0503c26:如師子勸助愍哀,普度眾生具足如意,所
T03n0186_p0503c27:願者得。』於是菩薩自[37]出宮殿,一心住立無
T03n0186_p0503c28:有覩見往來周旋。
T03n0186_p0503c29:「[38]爾時父王明旦即起,朝會諸釋以是告之:
T03n0186_p0504a01:『太子必出捨國學道,當何施計?』諸釋答曰:
T03n0186_p0504a02:『當勤將護。所以者何?諸釋部黨眾多無極,
T03n0186_p0504a03:雖復力強何能獨出。』時白淨王,勅五百釋
T03n0186_p0504a04:勇多力者,有方便計,使五百兵普學諸術,
T03n0186_p0504a05:令大力士住守東城門宿衛菩薩;一一釋
T03n0186_p0504a06:者從五百兵,一一車乘五百人從宿衛菩薩,
T03n0186_p0504a07:四門俱然;諸四[1]街路里巷諸門亦復俱然;父
T03n0186_p0504a08:王己身與五百釋前後圍繞,象馬車乘住己
T03n0186_p0504a09:宮門,晝夜不眠。
T03n0186_p0504a10:「[2]爾時大愛道自告侍從:『宿夜然燈燒香勿
T03n0186_p0504a11:得眠寐。今者離垢不樂在宮,必欲出家,悉
T03n0186_p0504a12:共遮護勿得使去,作諸伎樂令心樂之。
T03n0186_p0504a13:堅閉門戶勿令妄開,嚴諸繒幡彫飾牕牖,
T03n0186_p0504a14:林樹果實悉令目覩;假使欲去,慕樂此供
T03n0186_p0504a15:或能不出。』」
T03n0186_p0504a16:佛告比丘:「[3]是時二十五鬼神將軍及般[4]闍
T03n0186_p0504a17:鬼將軍,鬼子母五百子等,悉共集會各各議
T03n0186_p0504a18:言:『今日菩薩棄國捐家,我等咸共侍從供
T03n0186_p0504a19:養。』又四天王一時普告諸鬼[5]神:『今日菩薩
T03n0186_p0504a20:棄國捐王,汝等慇懃侍從供養。』其鬼神眾
T03n0186_p0504a21:皆[6]從五兵,勢力堅強猶如金剛不可毀壞,
T03n0186_p0504a22:精進勇猛將護眾生,其身高大如須彌山,將
T03n0186_p0504a23:無惡物犯於至德。釋、梵、[*]炎天,兜術天、無慢
